Mold Air Testing
What is mold?
Molds are very common in buildings and homes and that is why “Mold Air Testing” is important. Mold will grow in places with a lot of moisture, such as around leaks in roofs, windows, or pipes, or where there has been flooding. Mold grows well on paper products, cardboard, ceiling tiles, and wood products. Mold can also grow in dust, paints, wallpaper, insulation, drywall, carpet, fabric, and upholstery. Reference CDC.Gov
Molds can cause allergic reactions, fungal infections, and other ill health effects. Some people have underlying health conditions that make them more sensitive to effects of mold exposure. It is therefore, important to know how much and what kind of mold is in the air.
It can grow in plain sight but most often in unseen areas. For Instance, it can be found growing in Attics, Crawlspace, behind appliances, inside walls, and more. So, If you are sensitive to mold or someone in your household is, or perhaps has an underlying condition, it can pose a real hazard.
The question of Mold Testing:
“Is there excessive mold in the air that will affect us living there.”
If you ask us to go into any building and find mold we probably will. This is “Northwest Montana” and its everywhere. That’s just a fact
Traditional mold inspecting does little more than cost a bunch of money and tell us what we already know, mold it everywhere. However, it does not answer the questions about the air. Traditionally it is taking a swab sample of every little colored dot found. These tests are about $100 each and ad up fast. Even so, this does not address the air.
The Solution, Mold Air Testing:
“Mold Air Testing” solves this. Most importantly, it controls the cost and answers the question “Is there excessive mold in the air that will affect us living there.”
We pull one air sample outside. This is the baseline since it is assumed what is outside is also inside. Then, we test the air inside and compare that to the baseline. This tells us if the building if producing excessive airborne mold. This requires one (1) test for every 800-1000 square feet with a 2 test minimum. We then overnight this to our accredited lab and have the results in a day or two.
